Climbing the Iztaccihuatl has been a wonderful experience. We started at 4 a.m., and the first highlight was the view of Mexico City, as it looks like a glittering sea of lights, bigger than you would imagine. The sunrise at about 5:30 a.m. has been another highlight of my life so far!! It took us quite a while to reach the summit, as many false summits aree in your way. But the motivation to get up has been extremely high and the view from the summit to the Popocatepetl and over the country has paid of for every pain you have to take to get there. The way down has activated all of our extra energy, as the false summits are still there, and it goes always a bit up again, and in my case I put a large part of my energy reserve in the way up to the summit. The whole trip is a wonderful experience and has shown me my limits. Do it if you can, as soon as Popocatepetl allows you to do it again. You won't regret it! It's fantastic!
