Iztaccihuatl Trip Report (#3329)

Slept at the hut the day before and started the ascent at about 7:00 in the morning. It took us (I was ascending with a guide from Amecameca and 2 Germans) a little more than 1 hour to the top of the knees (destroyed hut at 5010 meters). From there it took us another 2 hours to 'El Pecho'.
I don't understand why in the literature they talk about a rollercoaster of intermediate peaks before reaching the main peak.
We had perfect weather, but in that period most days clouds tend to move up the mountain from the northern side at about noon.
The mountain was quite dry with no difficulties on snow or ice.
