Just got back from Mexico (Ixta). The peak is "dry as a bone." Just a couple of sections of high that have glacier snow on them. Right around 16,000 or so. The guidebooks say to either climb the snow on the left above Republica De Chile hut or if no snow take the 2nd to 3rd class rocks on the right if no snow. Well, like I said the mountain is basically bare so the rocks were the best choice. All in all a long walk with nice altitude as your reward.
