What a great climb! This was my first hike in about ten years and my girlfriend's, at the time, first ever hike up anything that wasn't a NYC highrise. We loved the long, wooded approach to the mountain (made for some beautiful pics) and the combination of small rocky faces that you could avoid, but scale for fun if you wanted to (we did). We hit the clouds about two thirds of the way up and cleared them at the top. Temp dropped to about 30F at the summit, wind occasionally gusting enough to topple you. We arrived at probably about 1 pm, stayed an hour, and were ready to head down when the sun finally burned off some of the clouds. They parted like the Red Sea and the vista of Autumn were absolutely stunning! We also found a salimander in a small pool of water at the top. Great day hike for city dwellers. Highly recommended.
