Mount Mansfield Trip Report (#15765)

We hiked Mt. Mansfield via the Halfway House trail, which meets up with the Long Trail. The day we made the climb up was wet and cold, and once above the treeline, it's hiking on solid rock. It can be a little slippery. We hit the summit, which was engulfed in a cloud. About 100 meters down, we stopped, the clouds below us broke, and out came a wonderful view of the valley below us. It's worth every second of the climb. We took the Sunset Ridge Trail back down, which was tough in some spots, but manageable. I recommend it.
