With passes over 3000 and a good dozen of over 4000 meter peaks "Idr-ren Dr-ren", so the name of the local Berber tribes, draw many enthusiastic climbers to the Atlas Mountains in North Africa. As an important base for tours in the Toubkal area serves the Neltner Hut (or Refuge du Toubkal) of the CAF Casablanca in the Mizane valley, situated at an altitude of more than 3200 meters. The best season for skiing the period from January to April is a possibility. We spent one week in March 2001 for skiing in Morocco and climbed on 20th of March this beautiful mountain.
Early in the morning we began our climb. First we had to carry our skis again like yesterday. We followed the Mizane Valley to the south and at 9:00 am we arrived at the pass Tizi n'Ouagne (approx. 3750 m). After easy rock climbing we reached a field of gravel which led us to the summit after one and half hours from the pass. Wonderful conditions again, weather, view and snow were excellent. After a break it was easy to collect the next 4000 m summit: Timesguida we reached in a 30 minute walk.

- Log #16320 - by Diego SahagĂșn on Sep 29, 2003I have to say that the story that I counted in my summit log entry happened in the early Spring of '99 instead of '98. I hope you'll forgive me for this unfortunate incident.
- Log #16321 - by Diego SahagĂșn on Sep 29, 2003The first time that I reach Ras n'Ouanoukrim I went with a friend and reached as well Timesguida. In 1.998 I was climbing alone, first Timesguida and then Ras. The base in both cases was a tent...
