Pretty awesome experience trekking through the Eco layers of Kili. We had hired a guide and porters so the hike to the Kibo Hut was easy aside from the effects of altitude. Once at Kibo all appetite was lost and never really quite regained. Felt good leaving for the summit but looking back now, I feel my pace was much to fast due to symptoms of altitude sickness at 17,000 ft. By the time we reached Gilmans Point I had worries of trouble returning to Kibo unaided so I turned back at this stage, missing the summit by mire feet. I think the ambitious pace in the morning did me in along with a lack of food. Would love to turn to Kili and enjoy the sunrise from her summit. It's a wonderous mountain and a rich experience.
