My first mountain from the dream 7 summits of the world.
Used the Machame route hoping that it'd be less crowded but that's not possible on Kili. Even met some fellow Polish climbers from my old country :)
From original 6-nights trip we cut one day off as my guide felt that i'm strong enough and when on the arrival at the final base camp (where most people get some rest before summit climb during the night) we decided to carry on to the top.
It took us around 4 hours up and less than 2 hours down. I felt rather weak (small headache and occasional shortness of breath) at the end so not sure if such a pace was a right decision. I'd rather recommend the usual pole pole (slow slow in Swahili) approach. On the other hand we avoided a cold (and boring I assume) night scramble - instead we had a nice sunny weather and brilliant all the way up.
Highly recommended experience and a small tip - don't book like me from London - the price I could get in Tanzania was 400$ less for exactly the same service.
Good luck and see ya folks in February on Acocangua - my next challenge! :)
