Summited Kili on Sat., Feb. 7, 2004 with my husband Richard and Sherry from England. We went with Thomson Safari up the Western Breach Route. Had six inches of snow the night we stayed at Lava Tower Camp. There was about 1 to 1 1/2 ft. of snow on the Breach Wall, but we had a beautiful day going up it. The night at Crater Camp was clear with a full moon. Very beautiful. Our summit day was clear, sunny and cold. Couldn't have asked for a better day. I would highly recommend this route. We got to the top on the morning of the eighth day. This allowed plenty of time for acclimatization. We live at sea level and really didn't have any trouble with the altitude. Going pole, pole really helps. Our guides, Nickson, Renatus & Anest were great. The cook and the porters did a fantastic job too. Was a pleasure to have met them all. If you're thinking of going, go. One of the best things we've ever done. Really enjoyed it.
