At the end of January 2002, 19 of us participated in a Charity trek up Kilimanjaro for the Anthony Nolan Trust. We took the Marangu route, sang a lot, joked a lot, took it REALLY slowly, drank, drank and drank and made the best of what was the toughest but most amazing experience! All 19 of us made it to Gilmans Point, having endured the "Night of the Living Dead" up that scree slope. Fourteen of us then went on and made it to Uhuru Peak. Brilliant, determined, friendly and happy group of people, and lots of money raised for the charity! One amazing week!! Everyone should try it!! If the likes of me can do it, anyone can!
