We trekked with Gane & Marshall, a UK firm. EXCELLENT. Guides were Felix and Joachim. EXCELLENT. Food and tents and so forth. EXCELLENT. We had a party of 6 trekkers, ages ranging from 26 to 67...we all made it to the summit (including one guy nicknamed 'Blouse'). We did the Lemosho route. We camped at Forest Camp, then Shira 1. Then we trekked out to Shira Cathedral for acclimatisation and onto Shira 2. From there to Barranco Camp. Then we climbed Barrance Wall (no problem) and camped at a middle camp on the Southern Circuit. Next day to a camp 250m above Barafu Hut. This made the final night assault less challenging. Up at midnight, a good hard trek to Stella Point by 04:30 (a world speed record ??). Then on to UHURU Peak to watch the dawn. Spent 30 minutes on the summit. EXCELLENT. UNBELIEVABLE. GLACIERS. VIEWS. ICE. COLD. EMOTIONS. Descended via Mweka Route over a day and a half. This was muddy and slippy and tiring, but worth it. Beats Everest Base Camp Trek by miles !!!!!
