Mount Kilimanjaro Trip Report (#3968)

No symtons of AMS throughout the trek except feeling fatigue after Gillman point. Took 250mg of Acetazolamide (medical name for Diamox) twice dail on ascent (one in the morning and one in the evening). Make sure you drink a least 4- 5 litres of water and a lot of tea during meals each day.(as Diamox cause Dehydration). Always bring two litres of water during the day trek and summit night. Conserve some energy for your descent from the summit. Bring energy bar during summit push. Go very slowly on your ascent, be patient, never rush,rest every 30 minutes for not more than 5 minutes to drink and attend nature call during summit push, take a conscious effort to breath( inhale and exhale). Wear thermal tops and pant as under layer, wool pullover the 2nd layer, fleece parka the 3rd, and breathable, waterproof, windproof outershell (as it rain everyday and drizzle on summit night). Use a -14 degree Celcius Sleeping bag (Deuter Dreamlight). Do not over eat but enough during meal.

Final advice : Do not ever trek alone. The loneliness I suffer along the trip is really unbearable.
