Jambo my friends!! Whilst Jambo and Pole-Pole are the only words of swahili that I can remember, I will never forget the views and feelings that I experienced on reaching Uhuru with my long time friend Nigel Rothwell. Whatever route you take (we went via the Coca-Cola)it will be a trip of a lifetime. An acclimatisation day spent exploring around Zebra Rocks was very beneficial and resulted in 13 out of 15 of our group (Explore Worldwide) reaching the summit. Diamox - my advice is don't take it, don't try to fool your body. Add extra days to better acclimatise, drink lots and you shouldn't need it. Don't try to get fit on the trip. My experience on Kili led me on to climb the mountain formely known as Mera Peak in April 1998 (also well worth it). Good luck to all of you about to attempt Kili.
