Me, my brother and my father all made it to the Uhuru peak with the help from our guides Aloyce and Stewart from Predators Safari Club. Even though we were using the Marangu route and we had the greatest possible weather it still was one of the hardest days in our entire lives and maybe because of that also one of the most rewarding ones. I don't think I can ever feel again the ultimate rush of reaching the top of a huge mountain. (i doubt I will ever want to do anything like this again :) ) The scenery that opened up from the peak was absolutely stunning!
We all had some minor symptons of alltitude sickness after Gillmans point, but nothing major. I was feeling dizzy, my brother was nauseous and my dad had a headache.
It was an amazing experience while coming downhill and taking few last looks at the kibo to realize that I had actually gone to the highest point in Africa by my own two feet! I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have...
