Started our trek with a group of older boy scouts from China Meadows on Monday, August 11th. Camped Monday evening at East Red Castle Lake. Tuesday, hiked over Smith's Fork Pass to base of Anderson Pass. Wednesday morning, began ascent of Anderson Pass and summitted King's Peak at around noon. The switchbacks on Anderson Pass made the 1200' ascent easier than what it looked. It was a beautiful morning for a hike. The hike up Kings peak was a scramble over rocks pretty much the whole way up. We signed the log, read the inspirational stories, and headed out for Gunsight Pass and camped at Henry's Fork Lake. Thursday we continued to Bear Lake in the Henry's Fork drainage, and returned to the China Meadows trailhead on Friday. It rained most afternoons during the week we hiked. The afternoon we climbed the peak, it rained an hailed, so anticipate wet weather at anytime.
