Bear mountain is located in Bear Mountain State Park. (About 50 miles from N.Y.C.) While a relatively small and easy climb it is noted for its spectacular views of the hudson river and surrounding mountains-- not to mention its proximity to New York City. There are several trails of varying difficulty(most a steep hike --one requires some hand scrambling) There is also a road to the top
