Easy walk/clamber for all ages; allow one hour for ascent and return

Ensure you have a clear day as Sugarloaf can easily/quickly get enveloped in mist

Great views of Powerscourt and Dublin City to North, Glencree and Djouce mountain to West, Roundwood and Vartry valley to South, and Bray, Greystones down to Wicklow overlooking St. George's Channel to the East

Getting there by car: coming South from Dublin on the N11 take the R755 signposted to Roundwood. Turn off left at the top of the hill and park at the base of the mountain to the West. Car park is closed off; leave car unattended at own risk.

Walk up track fom West approach and follow the track up around to the North slope before making the clamber up to the summit. If you climb/descend directly to/from the West beware of loose rock.
