Red Lake Peak is located North of Kit Carson Pass on Highway 88 along the Pacific Crest. There is an unestablished trail to the summit from the West with a couple of scree fields along the way. The summit peak is ~25-50 feet of class III scrambling, however, the hike to the summit is challenged by altitude only. Starting elevation of ~8000 feet. Total gain of ~2100 feet. Time 3-6 hours with views of Pacific Crest, Red Lake, Hope Valley, and more.
