Reach summit at 14.20 in beautiful weather. Nice view, especially the south wall in sunshine. Stayed 30 minutes and just felt lucky. Had that amazing feeling standing on "top of the world". The top is quite flat the size of a 1/2 tennis court. Standing on the top stone my GPS showed 6953m.
Started from Camp Berlin at 06.20.
The ice of Canaleta was broken up in many parts and you have to climb a heavy mix of stones and sand loosing 50% of every step you take.
Is it global warming that show-up here with less ice? The same phenomena are mentioned for the ice on Kilimanjaro.
