Thanks to Greg Rothwell for adding this peak.
Bird Peak is considered the most difficult hike in the Chugach that dosen't require special equipment. It is the second highest peak in the SOUTH Chugach and is very remote. It is very dangerous, since half of the hike is through avalanch areas. However to some people it is way worth the climb.
NOTE: Trip reports were previously called "Summit Logs" - same feature, new name

- Log #17484 - by Steve Gruhn on Jan 08, 2004Easy day hike up the Penguin Creek drainage. Not exactly sure how this came to be viewed as the second highest in the "South" Chugach as it is only the fifth highest in the Bird Creek drainage.
