Highest peak of the Wilder Kaiser range. Provides a marvelous view of the whole range. Several routes. Easiest from south (Gruttenhuette) exposed, some scrambling (cables). From north (Hinterbaerenbad) long trail over Kleine Halt (2125 m), Gamshalt (2292 m) to the Ellmauer Halt (socalled Kaiserschuetzensteig). The Kopftoerlgrat (Kopftoerl ridge) is a popular moderate technical climb (difficulty UIAA III).
