This mountain is clearly recognizable by its name, from the Pipeline Highway. It sits in the Atigun Valley, immediately east of Pump Station 4, on the north side of Atigun Pass. It is an easy 2 hour walk from the road; curve around the south side of the mountain, and summit it from behind. Beware of strong wind! (and bears, of course)
The view from the top is incredible, minus the pump station being below.

- Log #17518 - by tamara on Apr 23, 2000I don't know if it was my compass or if there's iron ore in the rocks, but my compass didn't work. I got lost at 13,000 ft and it started raining. Other than that it was a great climb!
