A nice hike that represents my personal high in terms of altitude. This hike started from the the antenna station and lasted about 7 hours, with a total elevation gain of about 900 meters (3,000 feet). The summit is just under 15,500 feet (according to our altimeter).
A couple of notes: 1. Do not miss the opportunity to ascend via the scree slope just below the summit. It's a blast.
2. Try to avoid walking through the barrio between Quito and the trailhead. It is quite dangerous, with robberies and wild dogs.
