Steens is a large fault block mountain in the southeastern desert region of Oregon. The western side of the mountain rises 5,000 feet in 20 miles, the esatern side falls the same distance in 3 miles.Being so large there is a gravel road nearly to the top, from there it's an easy hike to the top.
NOTE: Trip reports were previously called "Summit Logs" - same feature, new name
