The mountain is one of the most easily reached peaks from Calgary. It is a moderate hike through the woods for the first half of the climb with many great viewpoints on the way up. At the halfway point you have to climb through a crack in the rocks which will get you to the back side of the mountain. From that point on it is a scramble following several fairly well worn trails all the way to the top. The only point that gets a little difficult is when you have to go around a cliff (maybe 20-30 feet up) using a very narrow trail. To assist you with this a cable has been installed and you can just work yourself around the cliff. Although dogs are allowed off leash on the trail they will have a difficult time getting past this point unless you can carry them with a harness. The peak is very accessible past this point and it is a fun run down through the scree on the south side as you complete a circuit around the mountain.
