Merbabu is a stratovolcano in central Java with two explosive eruptions in 1560 and 1797. An explosive eruption was reported in 1570 but not confirmed. Explosions from the 1797 eruption were moderate in size.

    Arrived Yogja and met an Aussie at a motel. Told my plan to Merbabu and he agreed to follow. So, my supposedly solo trip becomes better... Took a bus to Kopeng via Magelang.
