Same slog as always. Good warm up for other hikes w/ my brother Glenn during his stay in the Northwest. He is amazing! His first climb ever. He trained for nine months and shed 115lbs. to make ready. Some snow fields on the 7/23 summit day were great training glissades for the newbe. On to Hood & Rainier....
WHILE YOU ARE IN THE AREA APE CAVES IS A MUST DO!!! YOUR TRAIL PASS FROM ST HELENS WILL GET YOU IN. 11,000FT OF CHAMBERS, SQUEEZES, LAVA FALLS AND BOULDER SCRAMBLE, YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. BRING YOUR HEAD LAMPS AND PROPANE LANTERNS OR YOU CAN RENT THERE DURING THE SUMMER SEASON, VERY COOL!!! jP
