Mount Waumbek

Mt Starr King and Waumbek make up the southwest part of this challenging ridge which includes Cabot as well as some high 3,000 footers. Waumbek is a great summer or winter hike. If you go in winter bring your snowshoes as running down the trail is a blast. There are limited views from Waumbek but good views from its neighbor Starr King. Waumbek is one of the lowest of the New Hampshire four thousand footers and would be considered to be an easy to moderate hike of 7 miles roundtrip.

Pretty easy winter hike, although the snow between the summits can get quite deep. My second time to the summit and this time the snow was so deep on the summit that it nearly buried the summit sign!...
