Located in the desert just west of Monterrey, La Mota (spanish for speck) is a peculiar peak with steep slopes covered with thorny brush, agaves and cacti. The summit area harbors a tiny oak/pine forest, wich looks like a speck. The routes start at the village of Rinconada, half way between Monterrey and Saltillo off highway 40.
