Besna Kobila is the highest peak in the southeastern Serbia (1923m). It is 35km east of Vranje. There is a mountain challet Besna Kobila from where it takes an hour to hour and a half to reach the summit on foot. There is a TV transmiter on the summit. Besna Kobila is known for its stormy weather, so the best months for climbing are during the warmer part of the year.
