Myogi San is an extinct volcano whose caldera collapsed a long time ago leaving behind a series of vertical cliffs and rock pillars. It is a popular spot for climbers and many of the routes to the top are specifically for rope climbers and said to be too dangerous for attempted to scramble up. There are some scrambling routes but the maps mostly highlight the climbin routes. Myogi is divided into two major summits, Kondou (the highest) and Haku-Un. The mountain is not high but the cliffs and crags are impressive. There are hiking trails around the base of the cliffs and some shrines as well. The autumn colours are said to be spectacular.
