There are 30 or so huts and bivy sites in the Arthu's Pass National Park, fees are low (from $5 to $15 per night). Arthur'Pass can be reached by train and coach from Christchurch. Weather in the Arthur's Pass Region is unpredictable, with sessions of unsettled weather from the north/west with gusty winds and heavy rain fall.
