Almost entirely rock with the remnant Gabitous glacier perched on the impressive north face. The route from the Cirque de Troumouse is intricate and loose. First passing two rock stacks on the floor of the cirque then via a gully to gain the summit ridge.
A difficult section "The pas de chat" (rope advised) guards the way to the upper ridge of the mountain where careful route finding is required to gain the tiny summit.
Watch out for the Griffon vultures sailing below, perhaps even a Lammergeier. A truly wild rock peak.
