Ascended Torrey's North Ridge - descended by Steven's Gulch. North Ridge is considered class three with some class four moves just below the summit. With wind chill below zero and ice on the class four moves, it definitely was not smart to be doing this solo without rope or pro devices. Ice axe and crampons essential. A very nice route but was glad to have the snow fields on the lower part of the ridge. Faster than sliding around on the scree. Had the mountain to myself. If crowds bother you try winter climbing. But be prepared and have some experience. And show better judgement that I did in doing this solo.
