It was a very hard hike to complete with all your gear. I recommend this as a day hike, as you will need to carry a tent and necessary gear for an overnight stay at the summit. It is cold at the summit also, even in August. Best view ever in Southern California. A great taste of real high alpine hiking, right in our back yard. If you are a southern california resident, this peak is a must! Oh yeah, you can lay down in the dirt at the top, and don't have to worry about any ants, becuase there are none that high! If you see the summit squirrel, tell him "what's up" for me!
