Mount Warspite is located on the west side of the Spray Lakes Road, and north of the Kananaskis lakes between Mount Invincible and Mount Black Prince. There is a difficult scrambling route up the north and northwest slopes that is accessible from the trail to Black Prince Lakes and Cirque. That route serves as the descent for climbers who traverse from Mount Indefatigable, then over Invincible to Warspite.

It was named in 1917 after the HMS Warspite which was a 32,000 ton battleship that fought in the Battle of Jutland during World War I. Nicknamed
