I'm not sure there's a good way to do this in the winter/spring. We came in from the south - patchy snow, downed trees, a real chore. Then we left snowshoes at 7500' and post-holed up to the SE ridge. From there, snow conditions were great. Seeing the eastern bowl (when not obscured by clouds) in its winter white knocked my socks off. If anyone knows a less tedious approach before the standard trail melts out let me know.
