Thanks to Troy Zohner for adding this peak.
Barren Mountain is the highest peak in the Barren-Chairback Range located in the 100 Mile Wilderness section of the Appalachian Trail. The trailhead can be difficult to find if not familiar with the area. It is generally a walk up but could be considered an easy scramble at the steepest parts. Part way up the mountain is Barren Slide and Barren Ledges which are interesting features with excellent views. At the summit is the remains of an old fire tower and more views. Just beyond the summit is Cloud Pond, a small tarn.
