It is on rank six regarding height in the Allgäu Alps and is located between the Wilder Mann in its north and the Hohes Licht in its south. The Heilbronner Höhenweg is running over this summit.

    Passed over the summit of the Steinschartenkopf when doing the "Heilbronner Höhenweg" in 1977. Can be very crowded and busy up there unless you start early at the Rappenseehütte.
