Se le ha catalogado como un complejo dómico, conformado por un conjunto de domos en forma de arco. Es un volcán activo en estado de reposo.

It is a volcanic dome complex within Nevados National Park in the Colombian Central Andean Chain. It is easily accessible form El Cisne to be used as a based camp (no HBC are allowed due to the volcanic activity). The approach (hike) up to the central glacier is only demanding because of the altitude but the sights are breathtaking - the trail is abundant with pretty streams, "paramo" florae and some wildlife traces.

The most technically demanding routes are the north and the south faces with very exposed and ridgy walls.
