Ptarmigan Peak is a mountain in the Chugach Mountain Range, AK. Two University of Alaska Anchorage mountaineering students died on the mountain in 1998. Eleven more people got injured on the 2,000 foot fall. The mountain is not usually crowded. One route is going up Powerline Pass(Recommended on Mountain Bike) for 3 miles then stow your bike and climb up the mountain. Great views on the summit.
