Valhalla is on the divide between the Nelchina, Harvard and Columbia Glaciers. The easiest approaches are from the upper Nelchina and the Columbia Glaciers. Valhalla's primary difficulties lie with the weather since this part of the Chugach is the destination of every storm that crosses the Gulf of Alaska. It receives a lot of snow.
