Feuerpalfen

Feuerpalfen is seen from East a hill above the famous mountain pasture Gotzenalm. To west, lake Königssee(1975 ft) it breaks down with a 3600 ft wall.

From village Königssee by ship over lake Königssee ( no other possibility) 50 min. to ship´s endstation Salet. From here on marked path Kaunersteig ( 1000 steps, really!) to pasture Regenalm and further on to Gotzenalm. 4 h. Now 1/2 h to Feuerpalfen. From here is the most impressive view to east -face of Watzmann, with 6500 ft the highest wall of the Eastern Alps.

The first ascent of Watzmann east-face ( June 6th 1881 by the guide Johann Grill, named Kederbacher and Otto Schueck, Vienna) was planed from here.

From Gotzenalm descent on marked ways passing pastures Seeaualm and Königsbachalm to Königssee 3 1/2 h.
