Schneibstein

Schneibstein belongs to the Berchtesgadener Alpen, undergroup Hagengebirge. It is the easiest of the Berchtesgaden 7000ers.But for all that you need for this course a sure and clear weather. When fog or clouds the tour will be dangerous.

To enjoy the tour you should take 2 days. First day : Ask in Königssee for the path : Stufenweg. On this path to inn Vorderbrand 1 1/4 h. Above Vorderbrand to a great parking.From the parking on marked path passing the pastures Jennerwiesen ( ski region) and passing inn Mitterkaser to a saddle south of mountain Jenner ( to Jenner also by cable-car). On a path to hut Stahlhaus ( 5668 ft), Austrian Alpine Club, managed. 4 h.Pass the night in Stahlhaus.

Second day : Walk up over a less declined carstic slope to Schneibstein ( 1 1/2 h. Magnificent view. Walk down over

carstic ground ( marked) to lake Seelein ( 5934 ft), 2 1/2 h. Descent through the valley Stiergraben to pasture Priesbergalm, managed in summer. 1 1/4 h. Descent on carriage way passing pasture Königsbachalm to Königssee, 2 1/2 h. Total 9-10 h.
