Hoher Gleiersch

Hoher Gleiersch belongs to group Karwendel, an undergroup of the Northern Limestone Alps. The greater part of this group is situated in Tirol/ Austria , the smaller part in Bavaria/Germany. Karwendel is probable the mountain-group in the most original condition of all mountain groups of the Eastern Alps. A wide-known saying declares : If you rule Karwendel, you rule all mountains of th world.

Hoher Gleiersch can be reached from Scharnitz by an ascent of 6 h. It is an impressive view point.
