Escudilla Mountain

Escudilla Mountain is in the heart of the Apache Sitegreaves National Forest near the Arizona and New Mexico Border. The mountain is a huge ancient volcano and the third highest mountain in Arizona. Along the way to the summit you will pass through some of the largest areas of Aspen forests in Arizona where elk and black bear are prevalent. At the summit the view is spectacular, especially if seen from the lookout tower where on a clear day it is possible to see all the way to Arizona's San Francisco Peaks over 100 miles away.
