Thanks to Roy Lindman and Marshall Hall for contributing to these details. (View history)

Unter Aschhorn can be reached from Zermatt going towards north, following the Edelweiss path. After one hour one comes to Pension Edelweiss. One more hour and one comes to Trift. Thereafter one needs to follow the path leading up to Platthorn and Mettelhorn. There is a lake at the south side of the mountain. One can ascend on the mountain near the lake. There are several routes up. Another option is to go on the saddle leading up to Platthorn and follow the ridge between Platthorn and Unter Aschhorn.

Thanks to Roy Lindman for this description.
