Grenzgipfel is a slightly smaller sibling to Ostspitze. Both high peaks rise from the west ridge of the Monte Rosa Massif, at the border between Italy and Switzerland. Although Ostspitze is slightly higher, Grenzgpfel at 4618m high is one of the highest peaks on the Monte Rosa Massif and all of Switzerland.

One can use either the Gnifetti hut at the Italian side or the Monte Rosa hut in Switzerland. The peak offers great views towards Matterhorn and other main peaks on the Pennine Alps.

The route up towards the peak is physically and technically demanding.
