Mont Avic is set between Champdepraz and Champorcher, in the Mont Avic Natural Park. Its name is probably linked to the Italian "Monte Acuto" (meaning Sharp mountain), because of its characteristic shape.

It's reachable by simple climbing from two different routes, starting from Veulla, in Champdepraz.
