Blanco Peak is one of the ten peaks above 5000m (16444ft) in Cordón del Plata Range. It's located at the northern area of the range and it's not so popular compared with the more famous peaks (Plata, Vallecitos, Rincón) because of the long approach. Therefore you will find a pristine environment at Blanco Peak.

To reach the summit by the south ridge you will need 3 or 4 days, starting at El Salto Village at 1900m (6250ft). If you go between September and January an ice axe and crampons may be needed.
